Tad O’Had - Co-Founder of Hybrid Hockey / Director of Hockey Operations

The Co-Founder of Hybrid Hockey and Director of Hockey Operations of BlueStreak Sports Training has had extensive hockey experiences helping him understand the challenges that young hockey players face in today’s game. His knowledge of hockey comes from the vast array of teams he has played with, scouted for and coached including, N.E. Prep School League, BCHL, SJHL, EJHL, Jr. A in Canada and the NAHL. Through these teams, he has received numerous accolades that prove his athleticism and dedication for hockey.

His leadership skills shone through when he was named captain for 2 years on the Connecticut College men’s hockey team. He has trained and directed teams and hockey schools in Ontario, Alberta, Michigan, Minnesota, Long Island and Connecticut. Tad has worked tirelessly with his students many of whom have gone on play in the CCHA, Hockey East, ECAC, WHL, AHL, and the NHL. Tad was the strength and conditioning coordinator at the Banff Hockey Academy, Tad has also worked closely with the USA hockey selection committee for the Select Festivals. He is also certified in Frappier Acceleration Sports Training, Sports Potential and Sport-Quest

Tad is a graduate of Connecticut College with a concentration in Sociology. Tad’s primary focus is helping to educate and advance young hockey players. Tad resides in Connecticut.


Matt Stack - Co-Founder of Hybrid Hockey / Director of Hockey Operations

The Co-Founder of Hybrid Hockey and Director of Hockey Operations of BlueStreak Sports Training, Matt Stack is a former professional hockey player with the Phoenix Coyotes, UH.L. Affiliate team, The Adirondack Ice Hawks. Matt is a graduate of New England College where he obtained his degree in both Business and Sports Management.

Matt received numerous accolades while captaining both hockey and lacrosse. Matt was named both North-South All-Star for lacrosse and Division III senior All-star for hockey. After college Matt was the first round pick of the Miami Manatees, and was invited to play internationally against Italy and German’s elite teams.

Matt has an extensive background in coaching hockey and the Strength and Conditioning field throughout the United States. Matt previously founded “Goal Line Training”, a hockey specific Strength and Conditioning program on and off-ice. Matt has developed and instructed many hockey specific Strength and Conditioning programs including “Next Level Training” in Lansing, Michigan, “The Edge” and “Goal Line Training” on Long island, and “APEX Training” at BlueStreak Sports Training in Stamford, CT.

Matt has been instructing hockey for over twelve years. He has been instrumental in sending players onto the University of Michigan, University of North Dakota, Merrimack College, Minor Pro and numerous other Major Junior, Junior “A” and Collegiate programs throughout the U.S. and Canada. In addition Matt has assisted in the scouting process for the USA Select Festival Committee.

Matt’s major focus is on speed development with a concerned emphasis on skill advancement, creativity, and athleticism. Matt is certified through Frappier Acceleration Sports Training and Sport-Quest. Matt currently lives in Connecticut.



Aleksey Nikiforov - Offensive Skills Specialist

Aleksey Nikiforov is an internationally distinguished Russian-Lithuanian ice hockey coach with over 36 years of coaching and playing experience. He played professionally for the Dynamo Riga in the Russian Elite League and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the Anatoly Tarasov Elite Level Ice Hockey Coaching School.

For the past 12 years, Nikiforov has been a Director of Ice Hockey, first at Superior Ice Rink in Kings Park and currently at The Rinx in Hauppauge. He has trained two recent NHL first-round draft picks (Mike Komisarek, of Islip Terrace, in 2001; Chris Higgins, of Smithtown, in 2002) as well as longtime professionals Darius Kasparaitis (Rangers), Dainius Zubrus (Capitals), Alexei Yashin (Islanders) and Bryan McCabe (Maple Leafs). In fact, Kasparaitis, Yashin and McCabe spent several days training with the Bobcats at The Rinx during the NHL lockout.

Nikiforov, who works with players of all ages, says his coaching success isn't determined by wins and losses but by how much his students improve as hockey players and human beings. Although he has been made offers to serve as a practice coach for both the Rangers and Islanders, Nikiforov said he plans on sticking with youth-level hockey.


The Hybrid Hockey Scouting Staff is comprised of Division I and Division III college coaches, as well as USHL, NAHL, New England Prep Schools, Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, United Hockey League and Central Hockey League coaches and scouts. Our primary focus is to elevate talent throughout the United States with a concerned focus on Long Island, California, Michigan, New England, Minnesota, Ohio, Chicago, Texas, Florida, Colorado, and Ontario Canada.
